Daily Challenge: Ladder Math

By January 25, 2013Blog, wod

In a ladder problem, you start at the bottom “rung” of the ladder and use the numbers 1 through 9 to add up to the top number. Numbers can only be used one. The precise sums must be met along the way. For example:

Ladder:     Sum:

____       45

__2_

____    38

____

__8_    21

_4__

_5_

__3_    4

_1__

The last three blanks, from top down, would be 6, 9, and 7.

Warm up: 3 rounds:

1 Cartwheel

10m bear crawl

10 squats

10 vertical jumps to target

50-meter side shuffle

50-meter high-knee skip

Focus:

Trace a figure 8 pattern 10 times.

WOD:

6 minute AMRAP:
100-meter run
5 broad jumps
10 chest-to-bar pull-ups

Then, solve this ladder problem as quickly as possible:

Ladder:      Sum:

___ _              45

____

6                    26

____

____              20

____

____             4

____

____

Post rounds and then total time to solve the ladder.
