Lesson One: Programming and Leading A Class

By August 1, 2015Uncategorized

The most important part of leading any workout is helping the client understand its benefits.

How will this workout help them achieve their specific goals?

Why is it eight minutes long? Why are thrusters included? Why this combination? Why today?

Understanding the “why” of a WOD is easier when coaches have context on the gym’s programming. And that means a basic understanding of periodization, adaptation and progression.

Leading a class is easiest when approached from the client’s perspective. Consistency is critical. And when coaches have a template for delivery, building a warmup is also easier.
